I couldn't be happier to be represented in the Senate by Feingold - I'm glad I'm staying his constituent. Atta boy, Russ.

This administration reacts to anyone who questions this illegal program by saying that those of us who demand the truth and stand up for our rights and freedoms somehow has a pre-9/11 world view. In fact, the President has a pre-1776 world view. Our government has three branches, not one. And no one, not even the President, is above the law.

(This is related to today's vote on FISA, which played 875th fiddle to $600 checks)

Update: There are, however, drawbacks to being one of Russ Feingold's constituents. The "Feels Like" column on weather.com's hour-by-hour forecast, for one. There's a silver lining in the "Chance Precip" column, but it's a dull, dull silver.

I love Russ, too, and am sad to no longer be his constituent. neth-how and I read his biography while in airports and on planes over break. It was mostly great and made us admire him more. [we did have some misgivings about the fact he likes to golf on the apostle islands--which despite his strong environmental protection record seems like poor land use -] But mostly it just made me proud to have been represented by the 3 great populists of the midwest as of late: Wellstone, Feingold, Obama.
