Well, we'd just say manager

Congratulations to M.Bro for her official promotion from Assistant Manager to Mr. Manager, Education Director, and Webmaster! I think it's telling that the employee's reaction at the store meeting last night was an overwhelming, "Wait - hasn't she been the manager for, like, a year already?"

Also, congratulations for getting her ears pierced like a grown-up.

Congrats! Does her job really change at all? Like the other employees said, she seemed to be doing the Manager job already...

Woo - hooray for M.Bro! It's a nice change of pace to have so many people I know have good things happen to them!

Yeah - congrats! It's always nice to have the official title even if you've been unofficially doing the job.

Whoa, interesting, did M.Bro not previously have pierced ears? I've never had pierced ears myself, which made me quite a rarity in junior high school. I kind of vaguely thought about it a few years ago, then never thought it was worth the trouble - what made her do it?

...and congrats on the promotion!

I think she was around 10 or 11 last time her ears were pierced. Her hair caught in one and it tore through her earlobe (she still has a long scar), and I think she's been a little leery since then. I'm not sure what prompted the piercing this weekend - although, in general, I think she would like to be able to wear earrings to dressy events. She's been buying and wearing new necklaces and bracelets for the first time I can remember, so maybe the piercing is just part of some jewelry renaissance.

My ear-piercing story that most of you have probably heard already...

When I went to get my ears pierced at the local mall (at Claire's no less), I was wearing a sweatshirt featuring the name and logo of my school district. The following conversation then occurred:

Piercer: So, do you go to [name of town]?
Me: Yeah.
Piercer: What are you, a sophomore?
Me: No, I'm, uh, in fifth grade.

And there you have a significant part of my childhood in a nutshell. Thank God I didn't tear my earlobe, though!

Congrats to M.Bro on the promotion! She seems to be waist deep minimally in scrapbooking! Hopefully the managerial duties don't interfere with the fun of her hobby! So do they EP hole punchers the way we EP STI shifters???

Ha - Spice, if it had been me in fifth grade, the question probably would have been "so, have you started school yet?"

My ear piercing (Piercing Pagotta at the local mall) was a girl event, including me, my sister, and my mom. Then we got fudge. That's the extent of my memory.

Hooray on the promotion!
And I got my ears pierced just a few years ago at the neighborhood Claire's. turns out there doesn't seem to be anywhere reputable to pierce ears. I tried fancy jewelry stores thinking they'd be more sterile, but at the end couldnt' find anywhere but Claire's.

So J. Bro, did you get her some earrings yet?
