Day 1: The Stage is Set

Today marks the opening volley of the Grand Battle of the Sinuses, in which the allied powers (Me, Amoxicillin prescription) wage war on the Axis of Eeeevil (Sinus Infection, Postnasal Drip, and Sinus Headache). Amoxicillin prescription and I do not expect this to be a quick war, nor one that will be won without sacrifice, but in the end, we shall prevail over the forces of mucus!

Is it just my crazy thinking, of are there a freakish number of people (esp. bloggers) with crazy sinus/allergy issues this year? I seem to be suffering too. My post-nasal drip has been OUT OF CONTROL and the ear pain persists. Blech.

Oh, Amoxicillin, good stuff.

I have been lucky lately and I haven't gotten sick yet. My mom was out for the count for a few days a couple weeks ago and people at work have been sick, but my immune system of steel has held strong!

Yuck. Hope you are feeling better soon, and I hope the Amoxicillin works for you.

I'm allergic to two things (that I know of) and Amoxicillin is one of them. Just thinking about taking it makes my skin crawl...

Oh, I am fully sympathetic. I also recommend steroid nasal spray - it is MAGIC at sinus drainage. Good luck! Goooooooo amoxicillin! And it's kind of gross, but many people swear by nasal irrigation (filling a little rubber bulb with salt water and squirting it up your nose). There's a few studies that suggest it helps with some stuff, too, and it doesn't hurt like the steroids.

Amoxicillin was my best friend as a kid. That and ampicillin. I had prescriptions for those off and on for years - I remember bringing the big brown glass bottles of it to daycare. One of them tasted really, really good, and the other one didn't. And, less excitingly, all those antibiotics left some nasty marks on my front teeth. Hooray for medication!
